This technology relies on the compression molding properties of silicone rubber, which causes the webbing to uniformly deform to give a tactile response. The webbing returns to its neutral position when pressure is released from the switch, providing positive feedback.

To make an electronic switch, a carbon, nickel and golden pill is placed at the base of the switch. This contacts onto a printed circuit board after the web has been deformed.
